Quebec’s
Bureau de la sécurité Privée (BSP) is the agency responsible for enforcing
Quebec’s Private Security Act. The mission of the BSP is to protect the public by enforcing the Private Security Act of Quebec. The Bureau de la Sécurité Privée oversees implementation of Quebec’s Private Security Act and its regulations. The Bureau issues licenses for security guards and security agencies and is the organization tasked with addressing complaints received against security guard licensees within six industry activities identified by Quebec law.
Industries Covered by the Quebec Private Security Act
The Private Security Act applies to six activities of private security services. This includes :
- Security Guards / Security guard protecting property, assets or people
- Investigation
- Locksmith work
- Electronic security systems
- Transport of valuables
- Security consulting
